‘AfroMundi’ children’s dance company presents Afro-Roots in the little square of Cabelo Seco, between poems and songs by the writers of AESSPA, watched by the writers of the future in the community library ‘Leaves of Life’.
Our eco-cultural and socio-environmental project, Rivers of Meeting, rooted in the Afro-Indigenous community of Cabelo Seco, carried out two news collaborations this past week, with 16 indigenous youth from Thydewas Hub of Culture in Bahia, and writers from the Association of Writers from the South and Southeast of Pará, in the 42nd Fest of the Full Moon. These are the first steps of two recent national awards, Rivers of Creativity (Ministry of Education), and Networks of Creativity (Ministry of Culture), and anticipate our first international Festival of Pan-Amazonian Beauty, planned for November 2016, to value and preserve the Boulders of Lourenção, to be exploded to deepen the Rio Tocantins and turn it into an industrial highway.

The Afro-Roots Collective of arteducators composed of AfroMundi dance company, Drums of Freedom, Leaves of Life and Rabetas Videos begin their first cultural exchange with indigenous youth from the cultural hub Thydewas in Bahia, to launch the Networks of Creativity project which culminates in Rivers of Creativity, in Marabá, this November 29 to December 04.
16 youth from seven different indigenous peoples, meeting in Thydewas, exchange songs, dances and stories with arteducators from Rivers of Meeting project, in the first exchange of the Networks of Culture project.
This coming Tuesday (September 2, 6pm), Rivers of Meeting presents Afro-Roots dance and percussion ‘Long Live the Boulders of Lourenção!, at the Arts for All performance in the Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará. The following Sunday, (September 4, 8am), Rivers of Meeting organizes its community bike-ride of the same name, to celebrate International Amazon Day. All are welcome!
